I just realised we can track our blog statistics!

Why are you from the United States reading this 74 times?! LOL.

Sorry if you can't see the picture clearly. I am not tech-savvy enough.

On nights like this, I wish:

OFF was next to me to HTHT.
Mama wld suddenly barge into our room and go 'Look I haven't bathed!'
Madmad wld come in, sit on my bed and make herself cosy as if it's her room.
Nikki wld start killing us one by one.
Weilun and Renand wld force us to play cards even when Renand's dying from sleepiness.
Kevin wld suddenly appear in the pantry and think that no one realises he's male.
Kokxuan wld tell us random things like calling OFF his spider auntie.
Oriana wld appear with a huge dumpling and say it's for my supper.
Samson wld come to Grace Tien and then make sure he rushes back before 12.30am.
Dave wld compose some poems.
Charles wld say jokes with a very serious face.

Gosh, how can I miss so many people, so many things ):

8 things I'll miss in HK.

Final 3 of Survivor HK.

8 things I'll miss!

1. Samson. Or Samsoooooooooooooon~~~ Anyway, I played Viwawa with him just now, cuz he was suffering from jet lag and was up at 7.45am US time. So we had to play Mahjong online. His username is Plutery, in case you wanna add him. HAHA. Plutery = Pluto + Mercury. I asked him why he didn't use Singayork, or Hongapore, or Newkong. Okay, I think Plutery still sounds better. HAHA.

2. Kokxuan's FYIs. Things you don't really need to know but he'll tell you anyway.

3. Nikki's walkie talkies. Anyway Nikki, we read on the plane that you aren't allowed to bring walkie talkies. You need to get permission.

4. Mama barging into our room and insisting she mops our floor. And Oriana giving away free food in the middle of the night.

5. Madmad's missing eyebrows.

6. Evesdropping, or Adampooping on Sir and Renand's conversations.

7. Singing Hey Soul Sister to Kevin, writing poems in reply to Dave's poems and fearing Charles.

8. And lastly, waking Valerie up every morning. :)

I'm glad I experienced HK with you guys!

Farewell dinner!

Last 8 things:

1. The person who invented cameras which flash and don't allow you to ever see the photos should be killed.

2. Mama finally finished her sticker collection from...Wellcome Supermarket.

3. We play Sabo-脫 at night.

4. N_k_i is Polar Bear on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Werewolf on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. On Sunday, she is Murderer.

5. Samson is turning 19! :D He had his first alcoholic drink. Mama says type something funny about it.

6. We entered Ritz Carlton cuz our manager booked us a table on the 103rd floor.

7. Getting a cab at Shenzhen is harder than booking squid fishing. Our cab got snatched 3times. We finally got a cab when we stood in a row spanning 50metres.

8. Let us sing Auld Lang Syne. Pronounced as Or Lang Sai. Up to your own interpretation.

We are leaving HK soon!

And the group gets bigger and bigger!

That's us at Ocean Park. And since Ni_ _ i and _ad_ad are complaining that they have been refreshing 28409283 times and they don't see new posts, I have decided to blog. And in case you are still harboring hopes of seeing Valerie's posts, I think you can just give up.

So, 8 things:

1. In our bed as the sun rises. Chatting overnight about others' vices. Overnight we couldn't stop our blabber. At 6.30am we fell into slumber.

2. I think I really have talent for poetry. We heard our angmoh neighbours coming home at 5am. No wonder we NEVER see them around.

3. We had dinner at Toastbox and it was OMGGGGGG touching. We ate prata, laksa and nasi lemak. It almost brought tears to my eyes. And we topped that up with a Milo Dinosaur OMGGGGGG. If I could post the picture I would. But I can't because it's in my camera and I am lazy to upload the photo.

4. 'Mama' locked herself out of her own room and had to pay HKD$5 to get someone to open it for her. Plus, when it rains, Mama's chin hurts. Or when her chin hurts, it rains. Depends on how you see it.

5. I bought 25 angry birds. And K_k X_a_ the dirty boy says they are all males. So dirty!!

6. Sir's nightmare is...really a nightmare.

7. When someone calls you 'Cedrick' or 'Lowe', it implies that he doesn't remember who you are. If someone follows up by asking if you are going to LKF, it implies that he suspects he knew you when he was drunk.

8. I made a South African friend! WHOOHOO.

Let me end off with a poem:

Off to Kat O Island we go,
Together everyone, friend or foe.
Tonight we shall sleep early,
So you can see your seafood clearly.

Mama please bring along your specs,
Kevin and Madmad bring their caps.
Samson in his Old Navy,
Sir as usual, looking heavy.
Dave and Nikki bring sunblock
Seagulls appear in a flock.
Wake up earlier, Valerie
Oriana can go for free!
Oh, what time will we be back?
It don't matter--KX's clad in black.
Charles be there, or would he not?
We don't care, he's not very hot.

Absent from the above poem,
Is our dearest poor old Renand.
Never been to Kat O before,
Yet has to return back to 'Singapore'.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA OMG.

The most artistic shot of Macau in my camera.

Greetings you who camp in front of your com and refresh this page once every 0.19308102 seconds (you know who you are, N_kk_ and M_d M_d). Here are the 8 things for this installment!

1. Catch-phrase of the month is "I don't care" (pronounced eye-row-ed-kareeee). Credits to Cheung, 2011.

2. I love Macau cuz it's so small! We can walk around the place without a map and not get lost. Plus cabs are as cheap as chocolate chips. We cabbed 6 times in total and it only cost us SGD$4 each. Cheap like mad. I don't mean you, Mad.

3. We finally got to watch the TV for one night. And I misssssssss watching the TV. Though I love to morning call people at 9am.

4. Moisturizer is to be applied sparingly. Ahem.

5. So is sunblock. Ahem.

6. We went to Zhu Hai! And we were afraid of being robbed and caught by kidnappers who will cut our limbs. But none of that happened.

7. And we went back to class. Myron coughed and we thought...something might happen to him. But fortunately it didn't. I'm beginning to like him more.

8. This ABC borrowed a pen from me. I felt happy for a moment. Still, he's not angmoh, and I can't believe that after 3 weeks, I still have not made an angmoh friend. ABCs are like mudbloods. Where are the pure ones.

Other random tidbits which are not included in 8 things, because I want to keep to 8 things, yet I want to tell you all about it.

- We finally found GAGA.
- We love grocery shopping!
- We're going to Ocean Park tomorrowwwwwww!
- But it's raining now!
- OHOH We went to Lan Kwai Fong. WHAHAHAHAHHAHA. And I experienced my first ever ladies night HAHA. But it's just lights and loud music and we had to shout to each other.
- There are lots of spiders in the toilet but the auntie cleared them away.

Woohoo I think I should sleep now. It's way past bedtime!

So far, so good.

Waisin bringing our friends around. I helped them take this picture!

8 things:

1. Our professor says "有电, 没电, 没电, 有电, 来电!!" when he didn't switch his mic on.

2. Our class is divided into 2 sides: The Asian side and the Angmoh side. The Asian side consists of our coursemates from Mainland China. The Angmoh side consists of Angmohs and ABCs. I sit at the Asian side but my heart leans towards the Angmoh side. Either way, we haven't made any friends, much less Angmoh friends.

3. Valerie bought tissue packets for me and they smell like Jasmine flower. We sniff it like we sniff glue. Kidding lah, we don't sniff glue. We sniff tissue.

4. The Gong Cha here is bigger and cheaper than in SG. When we go out in a group, I make everyone buy then I get 10 stamps and drink the free one.

5. We just realised we have been walking up from the 7th floor to the 8th floor and taking the lift down one floor to get to our tutorial room, which is on the 7th floor. We would have continued doing that if we didn't find out today.

6. I am sick of Pork Cutlet rice really. The fish tastes like pork. The chicken tastes like pork. Everything in the canteen tastes like pork. And the rice they give is "like a padi field" (Lai, 2011).

7. Plus, the canteen auntie never understands what I want. I want noodles and I get rice. I speak English to them and they tell me "You can speak English to me. I can understand.", while I give the ?!?!??!-I-am-freaking-speaking-English-?!?!?!??! look.

8. We love grocery shopping but not laundry washing. Somemore must wait till wee hours to wash clothes every night. Super sian.

Finally, the interesting post arrives.

Aren't you glad I'm blogging and not (boring Valerie)? I know you have been waiting for THE MOMENT. HERE IT IS!

Photo of the Day(s): My surprise 21st birthday party.
From top: Renand, Dave, Prince Charles, Mohammad Kok Xuan.
2nd row: Nikki, Oriana, Elizabeth, Sir, Mad Mad, Me
Birthday girl: Valerie.

Okay I know it doesn't look like my birthday at all but I'm super duper happy that I didn't have to spend my birthday alone. Or worse, with Valerie.

8 things:

1. Thank you all for the birthday video. It's the most awesome video I've ever received, because it's the only video I've ever received anyway. But I'm going to watch it every night before I sleep. That is, if I can stay awake to watch. We have been coming home so late every night and we have so many things to do eg. wash clothes, dry clothes (which takes 1 hour assuming no one is hogging the washing machine), hand wash things which cannot be washed using the washing machine etc. Sooooooooo ma fan. But the point is thank you all for the video!! Esp @Valerie Tan. Oh, this is not facebook.

Pris's Birthday from wanxiang on Vimeo.

For your viewing pleasure. HAHA.

2. Thank everyone for the "surprise party". It was the most surprising party I've ever had, despite the fact that I heard Kok Xuan and Renand's voice when I was showering. Hahahaha. But still it's a surprise, and I'm so so so so so so so omega thankful. Thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks.

3. The school organised a tour for us to the Avenue of Stars, Stanley Market and the Peak. But we have been to most of these places in the week we were in HK and nobody walks around Stanley Market in such a weather so we ended up eating everywhere we went. Sat in Starbucks to chill when we were at Avenue of Stars, ate New York Fries at the Peak. Super nice!

4. Met Waisin today! Super happy! I haven't seen him for 1903819028301 years already. We went to his house and he treated us to some HK local delights. So nice of him!

5. Finally got to experience indigestion! There's always a first!

6. Ate pigeon too! At the random roadside zi char stall.

7. I suddenly remember I have 3 chapters of readings to do.

8. We finally finished the lettuce in the fridge! :D THREE CHEERS.

Today is (finally) my turn to update! Wheee!

Disclaimer: Any resemblance to any object living or dead is purely coincidental. Really.

28/6/2011
1. The 12 course meal at Hong Sing Restaurant was great. The food was so much that the auntie had to FORCE us to eat them. Oh, and the aircon drips. BUT, it rotates, one person at a time.

2. The star dish of that dinner was: chicken with a head. As mentioned by Louis.

3. We didn't go clubbing cause the club can't even handle me right now.

4. We met new friendS. One of them is called Rinand (not past tense).

29/6/2011
1. We finally had our first lesson! It is so interesting. Our prof, I mean. He is older than our grandfather(s), almost a centenarian. And he ended his lecture with "We'll just see what comes tmr". That is, if tmr even comes.

2. OFF asked: What do you call people who are 100 years and above?
Me: Huh? You mean they have a name?
OFF: Ya! They have a term!
Me: -thinks- 老不死。Or maybe Myron? (name changed to protect identity)

Now you know it's called a Centenarian.

3. Someone called OFF at 1.26am, when we both were 1/3 asleep. We're not telling you who.

4. His name is Save (name changed to protect identity).

5. We bought a Spongebob bag that came with a free magazine. Or can be the other way round, depends on how you see it.

6. We have really really REALLY nice friends who lend us a magic mop and wrapped our books for us.

7. Our room is so smooth now that it can beat Kallang Ice Skating Rink.

30/6/2011
1. Our really nice friend also lent us washing powder to wash our clothes. We wana change room mates.

2. We are really not cut out for staying in hostels. We forgot to look our room while doing laundry. But no fear, we have come up with a revised system to ensure we lock our room.

3. We may not be going to Guangzhou anymore cause some of our friends are afraid of being baked (verb changed to protect identities).

4. Our prof took one hour to cover ONE point on ONE ppt slide today. And he still has 9 more points and maybe 50 more slides. We still have nine more lessons. Okay, joking. And he only cares abt students from Mainland.

What a great weather

Today I finally woke up earlier than OFF. It was such a great feeling!
I had so many big plans in the morning before lectures. Like going for a jog around the mountain, facebooking... but the rain thwart all my plans. It's been raining so badly since 4am and my underwear can't dry either. Gosh. And looking out the window, I see people leaving their laundry out to hang still. Stupid people, must be cause they haven't gotten their laundry card so shun bian wash their clothes with the rain.

I'll update about ystd's sumptuous dinner tonight. That is, if I don't end up procrastinating again and letting OFF do the job.

I think it should rain every morning cause it's so nice and cooling like this.

Oh and to all our fans out there, kindly have a comprehensible Username when you comment on our post. Like, 'iwannachewu' is not very comprehensible ;)

Day 2: Exchange Programme with Hogwarts.

Photo of the Day: Group Shot at Avenue of Stars. :D

Anyway, OFF and I are really lazy to upload 8 photos and since you can view them at facebook anyway. Anyway, I just used 2 anyways in a sentence. And OPPPs I did it again. HAHAHAHA. Okay nevermind. 8 things:

1. I love the MTR system in HK. When I first went to HK I was impressed with the MTR. But this time I learnt how to say "Please hold the handrail" in canto, cuz I'm learning all the very important survival phrases. One of them is 'hou sam yat zor fung hoi ngoh'. Very important.

2. Every one thinks the laser show sucks. But we agreed you have to go there twice in your life. First time to know that it sucks. Second time to show your friend it sucks.

3. My voice changes once every hour.

4. Valerie says Priscilla refuses to lend them her Xu Liu Shan voucher (cuz I couldn't eat mango = heaty. Having a very very very very bad cough).

5. My neighbour is really angmoh OMG I'm flying into the sky.

6. Hogwarts is very crowded.

7. There is a drunk cabin on the MTR. Where everyone looks drunk. Very scary.

8. Doremon slippers, 2 for 80HKD. Which is about $5 per pair. Very cheap (thanks to our strong Sing dollars) and cute. Our friend got into a hit-and-run at the escalator and his slipper broke so we bought him a pair for his birthday! But each person paid, uh, 80cents? HAHAHA. Cheapest present ever.

So as you can see OFF is lazy to blog. If she doesn't blog I'll not wake her up for lessons.

Day 1: Plastic bags 1 for HKD$0.50!

8 things (in line with huathuathuat). Maybe OFF can show you all 8 photos we took today.

1. Tiger seats does not facilitate sleeping.

2. CUHK is super duper omega bigggggggggg. Like 3 times NUS. Or more.

3. Our room got (partial) sea view. Cool not!

4. Our room got aircon. Cool not!

5. Our toilets got urinals. COOL NOT!!!!!! HAHAHAHA. Cuz our floor was meant for males (for normal school time), but I don't know why they allocated it to ladies. So urm, yes, our toilets are blue and I got a shock when I went in.

6. We label our food with "Not Yours", in the hope that people won't take it.

7. We forgot to lock our room today and no one stole anything. AMAZING ANOT.

8. We bought lettuce, soya bean milk, apples, cup noodles, detergent and lots of other stuff from the supermarket in our school. It's sooooo amazing HAHA but I think when you have to walk 15mins to a supermarket (up and down hills/staircases) you will want to make the most out of your trip. And have to pay for plastic bags so we cramped all the lettuce, apples, cup noodles into the free CUHK environmentally-friendly reusable bag. Like aunties.

Can't sleep.

佘詩曼 can't sleep tonight. Gosh.
The thought of sleeping on another bed tmr night is making me so hyped up but scared at the same time. (Why do I sound like I'm getting married?!)
And I went to look back at the newsletters, they provide a new set of bedding for each bed. GREAT. No need to bring blanket. You knw how heavy my blanket is??

Okayyy i'm gna have a damn good breakfast later, maybe some warm noodles at the lousy budget terminal which rips of ur money just becos tht's the only stall after u've checked in. Seriously, they suck.
And i brought lotsa lotsa lotsa food in my backpack, ready to eat them on the plane. That is, if I dont fall aslp the minute I fasten my seat belt. If i do, OFF, the DVDs are in my laptop cover. Take them.
HAHA!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

I'm so sick of virus, so tired to tears.

Just to show off I also know some English songs, OFF.

Yes, it's is super duper omega sian that I've fallen sick. Probably caught it from my youngest-est sister. As I am typing, my finger and toes are icy cold. All ready to melt in the heat of HK. Except they might just bar me from entry.

So I went to see a doc immediately this morning and got some antibiotics. I'm all focused to get well in time from HK. If not my OFF will run off in a cab with another man. Or maybe another girl.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about staying in hostel. It's probably going to be the only time I'll stay in hostel in my entire uni life. I've started packing yesterday, got some more stuff today to put in my snoopy luggage. HAHA. And thought of how to squeeze the 10kg berries within the 20kg limit. But seriously my mum bought the pills (you didn't think I was really going to bring berries, do you). It's actually called Spirulina, and I have no idea what it does except it makes my mum happy to know that I'm taking them.

So with a heavy head and icy cold toes, I bid everyone farewell. I hope my Spirulina will help fight off the Scarlett fever. OFF, you want some?

Scarlet Fever Scare

Aiyo seriously, what's with a scarlet fever outbreak at this time, when the all-excited OFFs are going for their 5 week Survivor game.
Can the world stop adding more troubles and woes to the already-worried pair?!

Fear of radiation has forced one of them to bring 10kg worth of berries. Now what must they do to protect themselves from this scarlet fever? Wear a red scarf around their neck?

Oh, tell me why'd you have to go and make things so complicated (it's a song btw).

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

You see you see! Your email was flooded by stupid fb notifications right?! So was mine! And that obscured the OH SO IMPT EMAIL from cuhk. Argh i'm so angry with myself that I'm gona use a bad word soon. Really soon.
JI DAN GAO.
Haiya.

A song to my future matric card in CUHK:
How do I live without you
(I'd like to know)
How do I breathe without you
(If you'd ever go)
How do I ever, ever survive?
(Maybe just stick to pris 24/7 and let her smuggle me everywhere, from the library to the toilet)

A secret post.

Ahhhh, we just got our room posting today and SURPRISE, guess who's my roommate. Or guess who's Valerie's roommate. Or better still, guess whether we are staying in the same room!

I was shocked, like :O) (cuz got double-chin) when I saw 65emails in my inbox cuz everyone was trying to find out who their roommates/neighbours were. I managed to stalk a few. But of course the thing that makes me super-omega excited is the fact that 2 doors down lives an angmoh. HAHAHAHAHA. I wonder if she'll let her golden hair out of the window everyday so that her roommate can climb in.

The other day I saw some angmohs post about taking 18hours to travel to the uni. I was super tempted to post something like, "18hours? I can travel to HK and back and there and back AGAIN." OMG, now I know why they wanna go China every weekend. If I had to travel so long to get there I would go to China EVERYDAY. Okay maybe not, but I'll go Thailand, Taiwan, and even Malaysia. Just not to S'pore cuz the currency is too strong. As strong as a sumo wrestler.

On a side note, I really love the survivor logo I paint-shopped. I think when I go to HK, that shall be my profile pic. HAHA. And it'ssssssss 4 more days! Or rather 4 more nights! Or rather, 4 more days and nights! (okay I'm being super irritating)

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Seriously. Your post below is..... <3
Wah actually 39 days is really quite scary leh. I feel so brave suddenly, spending 39 days away from all that I've known since I was born. Omggg.
And spending them with someone who I didn't know since I was born.... even scarier.

But yes, I love your scheme. But you better pray NO ONE ELSE from Survivor Hong Kong reads this. Otherwise, we're so dead. WE will be the one being back stabbed. WE will be the one losing our underwears. WE will be the one left stranded in a cha can teng.

2 more weeks to flight! I am both anticipating and dreading. I feel very scared leh. Really going to a foreign land for so long (though it's actually nothing compared to Seeing's). But still.
Oh mannnnnnnnnnnn.
Short people get more worried, hope you don't mind ;)

Survivor: Hong Kong

As I was brushing my teeth today, I thought about the upcoming HK trip and came to the sudden realisation that we'll be gone for 39 days.

And what does 39 days remind you of?

39 Days. 20 Contestants. 1 Survivor.

So I'm going to form a super tight alliance with Valerie. And bring her to the final 2. Because I'm so weak at challenges I won't be a threat. And cuz she's so short she can't be a threat (they might not even realise she's playing!). On Day 1, we're going to be nice and warm and welcoming. We're going to make them think we are nice little girls (not in terms of size please). We're going to deceive all of them.

And then slowly, we'll lie, cheat and backstab. We'll steal their underwear and hide their food. We'll catch fish together and not let the tribe know.

Cuz we're not there to make friends. We're there to win a million dollars.

Ha-ha. Just in case we don't make any friends at all, you know why.

I AM NOT 好姨.

We are at the pre-preparation phase of our HK trip now. HAHA. Am going to school for a briefing later this week to know others (without the open and close inverted commas) who are also going there this summer holidays.

BUT before that, we still have to fill in n pieces of forms and send them over to the school so that they will not eat our money up. And I am very lazy to do it cuz I have better things to do i.e. stone in my room, stare at the little people in my restaurant, and uh, stone. So as you can see, I am very busy. Plus, no one likes to fill in forms and go to the post office.

Will probably update after the briefing! It's less than 2 months to our trip, woohoo~ Must start planning and researching, omg! How to max out the 5 weeks (and pass our module at the same time).

P.S. In case you missed the point of this post, it is I AM NOT 好姨. Thank you very much.

Saturday, April 30, 2011

As the holidays are drawing near with our FINAL PAPER looming, it's time we start planning for our great five weeks tgt, OFF.
We need to learn canto too!!!! We are gna be soooo fluent that people will think I'm 佘詩曼 and you're 好姨。Oh I mean, the other way round ;)
Hehe can't waittttttttttttttttttttttttttt.

Harassing the PS Department.

Dear friends and foes,

my OFF and I have just attempted to do the module mapping for the module we have been assigned--Government and Politics in China. It is the most exciting module that anyone can ever do, because you learn all about Chairman MAO (not referring to Timothy) and what-nots.

So to-do list for the holiday for the OFF and me would be:

1. Learn to cook. Because we can only cook instant noodles with egg, crabstick and cai xin.

2. Read up on the politics of China because our enthu prof has given us a list of websites (and by list I mean more than 15 sources maybe?) that we should visit.

3. Smuggling Milo to HK because they only have it at Toast Box.

Very exciting right!!!

So today we took the first step by trying to email the coordinators involved. Thing is, the website says email your SEP coordinator and gives you a list of names but doesn't tell you who the coordinator is. And to make matters worse, we came across 2 websites which gave us different names of coordinators. So we ended up harassing 3 members of the department (since emailing is free). I hope they don't get pissed.

Next impt thing to do: Accept the offer. HAHAHA. With all these hype (we created among ourselves), we forgot that we haven't accepted and make payment. :S So we're going to do it tonight. Because tonight's gonna be a good good night.

Live it, love it. Hong Kong~

The Birth of this Awesome Blog

With much excitement and anticipation, I say Welcome Everyone to Our Blog!

After much agony of waiting, the O.F.Fs finally got the reply from CUHK (the uni that cheats ppl just for money): we are going to hongkong after all!

Hold on, I'll be back. Seems like my (noob) OFF has problems becoming an author of this blog.

Ah, back. Gosh, it was sure tiring sending the request to pris_123145@hotmail.com three times and deleting 'thirteens' two times. And my OFF herself can't believe it took three tries too. Luckily she got it finally, otherwise 3 strikes, u're out.
Great! Now, the next step is to (reluctantly) accept the offer (cos the mod is not exactly what we wanted) and pay them the money! But thanks to the strong S'pore economy, it'll be cheaper than S$2300! Whee!!! (:
